Artist Statement:
This small series began while I reflected on how life unfolds behind closed doors. The phrase often carries a shadow, yet I thought instead of the tender, joyful, and difficult moments that happen in our most intimate spaces—our homes, friends’ living rooms, or favorite corners of the world. Wandering foreign streets, seeing gates, windows, and drifting curtains, I wondered: are they laughing, working, grieving, sipping coffee?
These tiny doors and windows became portals, as my boys called them—glimpses into the sacred, ordinary moments that build a life. Even the most significant milestones are born from these small, unseen fragments of time.
