Artist Statement:

Many years ago I did a shoot for the band Lucius, and by the end their personalities really came out-  inspiring me and making me love their music even more. When I saw the light hit their sequin dresses backstage, I felt the creativity like an exhale and knew I had to capture the light and shadows they cast. Of all the photos I took that day, I found this to be my favorite. 

Sara Kerens is a NYC-based photographer who has set out to capture the human experience. Her work has been featured at the International Center of Photography in NYC, in her collaborative book, Displaced, documenting refugees across Europe, in coverage for NY and Paris Fashion week and around the world for iconic brands such as Jeep, Anthropologie, Christian Siriano, Yes Way Rose, and figures such as Margaret Thatcher, Coco Rocha, Cardi B, Lil Wayne, Susan Sarandon, and Alan Cumming.
