Mixed Media on Canvas with Resin
18W x 24H"
"Home" centers on presence, place, and belonging.
The chair is a form that has existed in my work over time. It is familiar and direct, yet it holds more than function. To me, it represents community, rest, and reflection. A place to pause, to gather, or to simply be.
There is also a quiet belief within the work that everyone deserves a seat at the table. A sense of inclusion, of being welcomed into a space, both physically and emotionally.
Built through layers of pastel, acrylic, charcoal, and resin on canvas, the surface holds both structure and movement. The lines move like pathways or fragments of memory, while the chair remains grounded within it.
Simple in form, but not in meaning, the piece reflects connection, presence, and the spaces we create for one another.
