Dulce Hardin

Artist Statement:

Just the other day I was walking my 2 year old grandson to the playground. He had stoped to admire a small red flower. Then he noticed the flower next to it was different (it had turned brown). Next a yellow bee landed on the flower. He was startled at first but I told him what the bee was doing. My grandson settled and watched the bee intently. We talked about bees and flowers the rest of the afternoon. That small moment made my heart smile. A gentleman even stopped and complimented that I was taking the time to let my grandson observe and learn. Now that is a spoonful of happiness. My art is a moment in the day that I hope will have someone stop, look and wonder...then smile.

With a background in graphic design, Dulce Hardin brings a keen eye for color, movement, and natural form to her visual art practice. A dedicated volunteer with Dwell with Dignity, Hardin has contributed to numerous design installations as well as their Thrift Studio in exhibiting her artwork.
