Artist Statement:
I love the first line of from "Destination" and have explored similar sentiments within my work, "Forgiveness". The quote, “It is near impossible to feel lost now that I know that I am the path not just the traveler,” resonates deeply with this painting. The emerging central pathway in the artwork isn’t just a route to follow—it becomes a part of the self, symbolizing that the journey of forgiveness and healing is internal and ongoing. Like Kennedy suggests with her poetry, the painting also embodies the idea that we are both the path and the traveler, embracing the messy, imperfect process of growth as an essential part of who we are, not simply a destination to reach.
