Artist Statement:

"Bloom & Sigh" is what happens when two artistic visions meet, one inspired to create flowers that will last, the other moved to create movement within a still life, both influenced by their love of the old impressionist masters.

Together, their work becomes an installation where glass, paint, and texture merge -transforming the singular artistry of each into an exciting new direction-one that neither could have achieved alone. Anna's unique glasswork meets Melanie's signature Impressionist brushstrokes, creating a vibrant fusion of color, texture, and dimension. 

Artist's Biographies:

Anna Curnes has a BA in Spanish and Fine Arts from Wake Forest University, and has studied under numerous glass experts across the world, including Glass Master Diego Bottacin in Murano, Italy. She began Anna Lou Glass in 2012, and founded ALG Fine Art (formerly ALG Collective) in 2018 where she also serves as the Gallery Director. Her innovative glasswork can be found in private and public collections across the nation.

Melanie B Brannan is an accomplished fine artist and educator whose work is held in private and corporate collections across the United States and abroad. With a BFA from Louisiana Tech University and Certified Educator for GOLDEN Artist colors, she teaches regularly in Dallas, including at the Dallas Museum of Art, and has also led workshops in Aix-en-Provence and Tuscany.
