Vertical Communion
"Plants have been a constant presence in my life, shaped by a childhood spent in a garden that blended utility and ornament. While replacing a light fixture at my home, I encountered a lighting store whose entrance was framed by vertical displays of living plants. The interplay of plant forms and light in that moment proved unexpectedly arresting.
Vertical Communion reflects my attempt to preserve that experience and translate it into paint. The work serves as both a record of a fleeting encounter and an invitation to share in the sense of quiet attention and wonder it inspired."
