Sunshine Window
Encaustic and Paper on Wood Panel
36" x 36"
Inspired by my Grandma Sparagna
"Her kitchen was the heart of the home—the only room that truly mattered. Nearly every memory I have of her lives within that space.
The kitchen table was more than a place to eat. It was where we played games, did homework, shared long conversations over afternoon tea, lingered after dinner, and, most of all, created together through countless arts and crafts.
There was a window in the kitchen that always seemed to pour in blinding sunlight. The light could be harsh, but its warmth was constant—comforting and reassuring in a way that filled the entire room.
The colors in this piece are drawn from that light—the bright sun streaming through the window, reflected and refracted by the strands of beads she kept hanging there."
